Adding crew to a job vs. scheduling a day

The job's crew list and the calendar days are separate on purpose.

A job has two different things that are easy to mix up:

  • Crew on the job — who works this project. Dragging someone onto a job (or adding them in the Crew section) only puts them on this list. It does not place them on any calendar day or fill in hours.
  • The schedule — which days and hours each person works. Set it in the job's calendar: pick a day, pick people, set hours.

Why they're separate

A crew member can belong to a project for weeks but only work some of its days. Keeping the two apart means nobody gets booked on a day you didn't choose.

Hours

New shifts start from your company hours (Settings → Job & Scheduling). If someone is already booked part of a day — say 3–4 PM on another job — JobBadger offers the largest free window that day instead of double-booking them.

Editing hours

Click a person's name on a calendar day to set their hours, pick the Manager on record, and add comments. The dialog lists anything else they're booked on that day. If the new hours overlap another job (including your buffer between jobs), a warning explains what it overlaps and Save turns into Override — a manager must be selected to approve it. Approved overlaps show as "Overlap · OK'd" on the calendar and "Overlap approved" on Timesheets. Dragging a shift to another day, changing the job's hours, or editing a repeat schedule still refuse overlaps.
