SMS Messaging Program & Consent

Last updated · September 7, 2026

JobBadger LLC provides field-service software. Businesses that use JobBadger can send their own customers transactional text messages about booked jobs. This page documents the messaging program: who receives messages, how consent is collected before any message is sent, the exact opt-in language, and how recipients opt out.

1. Program description

  • Sender: a home or commercial service business (electrician, HVAC, plumber, landscaper, cleaner, etc.) using JobBadger, sending under its own business name.
  • Recipients: that business’s existing customers who have booked a service job.
  • Message types: “crew on the way,” appointment reminder, job complete, and estimate-ready notices. Transactional only. No marketing or promotional content.
  • Message frequency: varies by job, typically 1–3 messages per scheduled visit. This is not a recurring subscription program.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out: reply STOP to any message. Help: reply HELP or email support@jobbadger.app.

2. Consumers do not opt in by texting a keyword

There is no “text JOIN to 12345” call-to-action. Consent is collected by the service business, outside of SMS, at the time the customer books a job. JobBadger records that consent on the customer’s record and will not send any automatic text to a customer without it.

3. Exact opt-in language shown in JobBadger

When a business adds or edits a customer in JobBadger, the phone number field is followed by this consent control. The business checks it only after the customer has agreed. It is unchecked by default and the business also records how consent was obtained.

Options for “Consent given” are: By phone / in person · On our booking form · On a paper work order.

4. Verbal consent script (phone or in person)

Businesses are instructed to obtain verbal consent with this script before checking the box above:

“Can we text you updates about this job at this number, like when the crew is on the way and when the work is done? The texts are sent through our scheduling software, JobBadger. It’s usually one to three texts per visit, message and data rates may apply, you can reply STOP at any time to stop or HELP for help, and the privacy policy is at jobbadger.app/privacy.” — Customer answers yes. Staff then check the consent box on the customer record, which is unchecked by default, and select “By phone / in person.”

5. Web form and paper work order language

When a business collects the number on its own booking form or a paper work order, it uses this consent statement next to the phone field:

☐ Yes, text me updates about my service job (crew on the way, reminders, job complete) at the number above. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Privacy: jobbadger.app/privacy · Terms: jobbadger.app/terms

6. Sample messages

  • Bob’s Electric: Your crew is on the way and should arrive in about 25 min. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Bob’s Electric: Reminder, your service visit is scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00 AM. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
  • Bob’s Electric: Today’s job at 212 Oak St is complete. Thank you for your business. Reply STOP to opt out.

7. Opt-out handling and data use

STOP is honored immediately and automatically for all future messages from that business through JobBadger. Mobile numbers and consent records are used only to deliver these messages and are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
